BDK Parfums describes itself as an independent Parisian perfume studio. Founded by David Benedek in 2016, the house connects fragrances with moments, personalities and stories. Rather than repeating one character across every composition, each begins with its own central idea.
A material as the beginning of a story
In BDK's official presentation, choosing a raw material is the starting point for creating a perfume. The aim is to explore its facets and character. The house states that its fragrance concentrates are created in the Grasse region, while the bottle, cap, label and box are made in France.
This makes exploring the collection particularly interesting: instead of looking for the same scent made stronger, you can follow different materials, moods and contrasts.
Three different directions
Rouge Smoking brings a cherry accord together with black vanilla and heliotrope, using bergamot and pink pepper for contrast. It is a starting point for exploring the fruity-vanilla side of the collection.
Tabac Rose pairs rose with tobacco, spices and gourmand nuances. Its official story includes Turkish rose, Balkan tobacco, patchouli and labdanum—a combination that illustrates the house's richer side.
Velvet Tonka creates a different warmth: tonka and vanilla are surrounded by almond, orange blossom, rose and tobacco. The general word sweet is not enough to explain the differences between these three compositions.
Discover your BDK
Start with a favourite note, but read the rest of the composition too. Cherry with vanilla, rose with tobacco and tonka with almond tell three different stories. Our suggestion is to compare the contrasts, not only the name on the bottle.
